Announcing the merger of GBA and Flame

The Greenwich Flame Basketball Club ("Flame") and Greenwich Basketball Association ("GBA")  GBA are excited to announce that we are now in the process of combining our programs to provide the best youth basketball experience in Greenwich. The combined organization will continue to provide the highest quality travel and recreational opportunities to families in Greenwich.
We are continuing to work through a number of details, but we are planning to have  two travel teams for each of Grades 5 through 8, an A team and a B team.  There will be a Grade 4 travel team if there is sufficient interest and talent.

The A teams will  play a full 25-35+ game schedule in the Fairfield County Basketball League with two practices during the week.  They will also play in one or more tournaments during the season.  A team players will not participate in the GBA.

The plan is for B teams to play a more limited 15 game schedule in the Fairfield County Basketball League with one or two practices during the week.  The majority of the games will be played at home in Greenwich.  Members of the B teams will also be required to play the regular GBA program. It is anticipated that during the 2014-15 transition year, an 8th grade B team will play a full travel schedule.
